An awesome plant is the Prosopis juliflora also known as Bayahondes. What's so awesome about it is that its roots are able to grow to a great depth in search of water: in 1960, they were discovered at a depth of 53 meters (175 feet) at a mine near Tucson, Arizona! That discovery was one of the deepest found roots! (research from :"Prosopis Juliflora." Wikipedia. Wikimedia Foundation)
A few awesome animals are the Haitian solenodon and the Mozart Frog. The reason why I think the Haitian solenodon is awesome is because it is one of only two living species of Caribbean soricomorphs. The reason why I think the Mozart Frog is awesome is because of "the remarkable resemblance of the wide-band audio spectrogram of this species to musical notes."

There is a fossil discovery that is from a bird. This leads to a break in the belief that when humans came to the Caribbean almost all birds were completely wiped out.
