Jan. 2 - Ancestry Day - The name kind of says that to day you remember the loved ones in your family and ancestry that have died. Wikipedia and webster.edu agree.
Jan. 6 - Epiphany - The name didn't really just say what the holiday was about so I got some help from Wikipedia. They say 'a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God the Son as a human being in Jesus Christ. '
May 1 - Labor Day and Agriculture Day - Wikipedia has a blank spot here... and webster doesn't say anything..So, I guess that their labor day is a bit like the US Labor day but not in September.May 18 - Flag and Universities Day - 'Celebrates Haiti's educational system and commemorates the creation of Haiti's flag at the 1803 Arcahaye Conference.' - Wikipedia

Carnival (Kanaval in Creole) - There is no official date for Carnival as it moves dates. Carnival starts in January as Pre-Kanaval and the main activities begin in February. There are costumes, floats, masks, foods, and music.
Ash Wednesday - In Haiti a type of musical parade, Rara is popular around this time. Tourists come around Easter to listen to the bands.
